JD's Birthday

JD wanted nothing more than to drink soda when we went to the Musser's for a little family birthday party for JD. Now, I'm not a nut about letting my kids have sugar or anything I figure that if I let them have treats, they'll be less likely to binge on them. But I did want him to eat something other than cake and he wasn't having anything to do with it. He's very stubborn like that.

Brian, Tyler and Julia came over to the Musser's for the party along with both sets of grandparents. We had fun. Brian said he was going to get JD to eat. So I believe it went something like: bite of food, drink of soda, some more soda, maybe another bite of food. Jeremy swears that Brian got JD to eat. I don't know though, they sounded like they were having an awful lot of fun. =o)

I think this picture of Brian pretending to take JD's toy is really funny. It was nice to see everyone enjoying themselves. Plus I like it when I can get pictures of Brian and Tyler having fun. Especially Tyler because he doesn't like to pose. It was hard to get JD to go to the next toy after opening one because he wanted to start playing with what he just opened. Right now he's torn between his scooter, which he keeps trying to take into the house and the toy drill and chain saw. He's pretended to drill and saw just about everyone in the house.

This is the outfit we bought JD for his birthday, Jeremy decided to take some pictures of the kids before church and he likes this one because of the face JD is making. Unfortunately the lighting wasn't very good and the fact that JD managed to konk himself on the head (notice the large bruise on the left) didn't help anything either. But, he's still a cute kid. I can't believe he's two now. It seems like I just got back to work after maternity leave. I'm a little sad that I don't have any little babies to cuddle anymore but it's been really neat watching them learn and get older. JD is starting to talk more now. He loves his ba-bee (blanket) and his mo (milk). He also tries to say shark (he has a stuffed hammerhead shark) but it tends to sound more like he's coughing up a hair ball. The funniest thing is when he tries to string words together in a sentence. It usually comes out as babble. I'm lucky to get the first word and the last word. Usually it has something to do with wanting a drink of milk or a snack. The kid drinks milk like it's water. I have my dad and grandmother to thank for that I guess. I'm wondering if we'll have to start potty training him soon. Jeremy said that today he threw a diaper and wipes at him. Jeremy asked him if he needed to be changed. He said yes and started trying to take off his diaper.
